August 21, 2010 - Red Hot Chili Pepper Bike Rally
This event is confirmed for us this year. It'll take place on the 21st of August. We are looking for help with our Trailer (doing duoble duty as shadows), SAG's, Rovers, and Rest Stops. APRS would be great but not necessary. Except for shadows everyone should have a good strong mobile unit as the course is spread out over a large area. Rest stops may consider portable base stations with gain antennas.
Any one who can help should email me at

The Dallas Amateur Radio Club will be providing communications support for the YMCA Turkey Trot again this year.
The Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the country. Starting from humble beginnings 42 years ago at White Rock Lake, it has grown into the undisputed "Way to Begin Thanksgiving Day" for thousands of locals as well as those who travel to share in our great event.
The Trot tradition has now extended through generations of participants who celebrate the holiday with grandparents, relatives, friends and their youngest who we look to see with their own families in the years ahead. The Dallas YMCA supports strong kids, strong families and strong communities – all of which are represented at the Trot. Participants are also helping to support important YMCA programs. We look forward to seeing you – bring a big group! – to this year’s Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot.
The 8 Mile Race begins at 9am. The 3 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 9:15am.
